Cookie policy

Which cookies and browser storage this website uses: essential cookies only by default, analytics cookies only if you agree, and how to change your choice at any time.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others help the site owner understand how the site is used. This page explains which ones we use and the choices you have.

Essential cookies we always use

These cookies keep the website working and secure. They don't track you across other sites, and the site can't work properly without them, so they don't need your consent.

  • Session cookie. Keeps track of your visit as you move between pages, for example so a form can show you what needs fixing without losing your answers. It expires after a period of inactivity, two hours by default.
  • XSRF-TOKEN. A security cookie that protects our forms against cross-site request forgery, a type of attack where another website tries to submit a form in your name. It expires with your session.
  • use_consent. Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don't ask on every page. It holds only "granted" or "denied" and expires after six months.

Analytics cookies, only if you agree

If you agree in our cookie banner, we use two analytics tools to understand which pages are useful and where the site could work better. We don't set these cookies unless you say yes.

  • Google Analytics 4 sets cookies whose names start with _ga. They count visits and show how people move through the site.
  • Microsoft Clarity sets cookies such as _clck and _clsk. They show, in aggregate, how people scroll and click, so we can fix pages that confuse people.

You can change your mind at any time. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics cookies from being set; you can delete existing ones in your browser settings.

To change your choice, use Cookie settings at the foot of any page. If you decline after accepting, we remove the analytics cookies from your browser.

Other storage in your browser

Some features keep information in your browser's own storage rather than in cookies. It stays on your device and is never sent to us unless you send an enquiry.

  • Saved safaris. If you save safaris to compare later, the list is kept in your browser.
  • Planner progress. Answers you've typed into the safari planner are kept in your browser so you don't lose them if you leave the page.
  • Where your visit came from. The page you landed on, the referring site and any campaign tags in the link are kept for your current visit, and sent with your enquiry only if you submit one.

You can clear all of this at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Embedded video

The film on our home page plays through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which is designed not to store YouTube cookies on your device until you play the video. If you play it, YouTube's own privacy and cookie policies apply.

Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies in their settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of the site, including our forms, won't work properly.
