About Untamed Safari Experience

Untamed Safari Experience plans safaris in Tanzania. We arrange private safaris, where you have your own vehicle and guide, and small-group trips, where you share the vehicle with a few other travellers.

Most of our trips cover the northern parks: Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, often with a few days on Zanzibar at the end. You can travel at a mid-range comfort level, in well-run lodges and tented camps, or at luxury level, in premium camps closer to the wildlife. The parks and the animals are the same either way. What changes is where you sleep and how your days are arranged, as our guide to safari comfort levels explains.

We plan in three steps, and we don't rush any of them.

We listen first. Before we suggest a route, we want to know who's travelling, when you can go, what you most want to see and how you like to travel. A honeymoon in February and a family trip in August need very different plans, even in the same parks.

We propose a plan. You get a day-by-day outline with the parks, the approximate drive times, the comfort level for each night and what the price includes. If the month you've chosen doesn't suit what you most want to see, we'll say so and suggest an alternative.

We adjust it until it fits. Most plans change at least once. A slower pace, an extra night in the Serengeti, a different camp area, a beach stay: tell us and we'll rework it.

You'll be dealing with people who plan Tanzania safaris, not a booking engine. Expect questions before answers, and straight replies about timing, distances and what a trip can and can't promise. Wildlife and weather run on their own schedule, and we'd rather tell you that early.

Prices are on request, because they depend on the season, the camps, the number of travellers and whether you drive or fly between parks. Your proposal shows what's included and what isn't.
